The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on August 25, 2026, notified regarding the Enhancements in the Pre-Shipment Inspection Agency (PSIA)/Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) process.
It has introduced further changes in the Pre-Shipment Inspection Agency (PSIA)/Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) module on the DGFT portal to strengthen compliance, reduce manual intervention and enhance transparency. The changes standardise the inspection date format, require PSICs to be generated and issued only on the actual date of inspection, and enable authorised PSIA users to upload inspectors’ signatures and official stamps, which will be automatically embedded in the PSIC. The system will also auto-populate inspector details and registered instrument details based on the selected country of inspection.
Further, the permissible inspection photographs have been increased from 5 to 10, with a maximum size of 5 MB each, while the mandatory inspection video size limit has been increased from 10 MB to 50 MB.
